ELECTION NEWS -

The next election will be held here at the township community center hall on Tuesday, AUGUST 7, 2012.

This is the Primary Election and at this time you will vote for who you would like to see on the November 2012 ballot. The General Election will be held on November 6, 2012. You will be receiving a new Voter Idenification Card in the near future as two district numbers have changed. Our New State Representative District number will be 103 and our New State Senate District number will be 35.

If you would like to vote by absentee ballot and wish to be placed on the permanent list, please call the township offices, 989-275-8878.  For elections voting polls are open 7:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.

1.)  The March 2012 BOARD OF REVIEW is set to meet Monday, March 12, 2012, 9 am - 12 noon; and 1 pm - 4 pm.  Thursday, March 15, 2012, 1 pm - 4 pm; and 6 pm - 9 pm.  Hearing appeals of valuation for assessments, uncappings, classification appeals of property and such.   No appointments are necessary.

2.)  JULY 2012 BOARD OF REVIEW

SET FOR JULY 16, 2012 - 12 NOON AT BCT OFFICES.

PURPOSE:  CORRECTION OF CLERICAL ERRORS, MUTUAL MISTAKES IN FACT, PRINCIPLE RESIDENCE EXEMPTIONS - MOSTLY.

BCT'S 2011 CEMETERY CLEAN UP DAY - WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!  THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED. WE WILL LET YOU KNOW THE 2012 DATE AS SOON AS THE BOARD MAKES THAT DECISION.

Our Township Clean-Up Day for 2012 is June 23rd from 7 a.m.-11 a.m. at out transfer site.

Crawford County Residents 2012 Household Hazardous Waste Disposal  was Saturday, June 23rd, 9am-2pm at the County Court House Parking Lot.  What is Household Hazardous Waste?  TOXIC poisonous or capable of causing acute illness; FLAMMABLE burns easily;  CORROSIVE eats other materials; REACTIVE explodes if exposed to water, heat or shock. ACCEPTED ITEMS:  aerosols, batteries, oil based paint, paint thinner, acid, used motor oil & other liquid automotive products, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, solvents, fluorescent light bulbs, swimming pool chemicals, unknowns.  NOT ACCEPTED: Latex Paints (water based), Controlled Substances, Empty Containers, Appliances, Commercial Waste, Tires, Business Waste.We will post the 2012 date ASAP.

Dog/Cat licenses,available here at the township office, beginning November 1st through the end of February yearly.  Fees:  spayed/neutered $8, without spayed/neutered $15.  After March 1st, you must go to the County Offices.  Please bring proof that your animal is spayed or neutered & a copy of your animal's rabies certificate; they must be presented to get a license.

For Applications made on or after MARCH 1ST, the fee is $25 & only available at the Crawford County Offices located in downtown Grayling at the Courthouse.
